Mathias Ross calls the second point of the season ‘a little progress’

“I am surprised, wondering and disappointed” – Povlsen misses the aggressiveness of energy-abandoned AaB

Mathias Ross had been assigned the honorable task of captaining AaB in the match against FC Nordsjælland, but despite the trust, he had to suffer the bet of being replaced after 69 minutes.

His reaction to coach Lars Friis on the sidelines clearly exuded dissatisfaction, just as the AaB coach’s extended hand was not received positively.

– I gave him a ‘five’ back, but it was probably not the hardest in the world, admitted the AaB captain, who did not hide the fact that he did not agree with the boss’s decision.

– That’s the way it is. A player always wants to finish the game, he said.

– But it is of course connected to the fact that I had received a yellow shortly before, so it constituted a risk, said the AaB.

Lucas Andersen twisted his ankle in connection with Saturday’s training and was not ready. That is why Mathias Ross had been tied against FC Nordsjælland.

For the second home game in a row, AaB had to leave the pitch with 0-0, and the North Jutland are stuck at the bottom.

– It was a small step forward, but we need a win, said Mathias Ross, referring to the fact that FC Nordsjælland lost points for the first time this season.

The progress is mainly due to the second half, where the defiant home crowd spurred the players to rise after a zombie-like first half.

– We had talked about it before the match, that it was about going one hundred percent into all the duels.

– If we do that, the audience will probably give us credit for it. There is a good interplay there.

– There are proud traditions in North Jutland, and that means there is pressure on. We players must be able to perform under that. It is a condition.

– Whether it is fruitful is difficult to answer, but today it helps us forward, said Mathias Ross, who saw his team transform from a scared bunch of stripes to a brave crew that in the end came closest to victory.
