America’s Cup, Sport and Health unveils renders on team bases in Bagnoli

Naples is preparing to become the international capital of sailing. The renderings unveiled in preview by Sport e Salute, the event’s implementing body, show for the first time how the team bases will be organized in Bagnoli for the 38th edition of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup.

The positions are already starting to take shape: defender Emirates Team New Zealand has chosen its space, as have four top-level challengers – Luna Rossa for Italy, Alinghi for Switzerland, GB1 for the United Kingdom and K-Challenge for France. The United States is still missing, having just officially entered the race with American Racing Challenger, and the seventh crew, which will be announced shortly. The timing is being defined: the first five teams could arrive in Bagnoli by June 2026, creating a true international sailing hub.

This result would be the result of an important redevelopment work of the area, carried out in synergy by the Italian Government through the Extraordinary Commissioner Gaetano Manfredi, by the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, by Sport and Health, by the Municipality of Naples, by Invitalia and by the organization of the America’s Cup. And if Cagliari will host the first preliminary regatta from 21 to 24 May, in Naples shortly after we will already begin to feel the atmosphere of the competition. Bagnoli will be the first concrete sign of what 2027 will bring: one of the most iconic sporting events in the world, for the first time in Italy.
