Shock in Argentina: Gallhuber seriously injured his knee

As in 2018, Katharina Gallhuber suffered a serious knee injury. During slalom training in Ushuaia (ARG), the 25-year-old from Lower Austria actually had an unspectacular fall, but the consequences were lasting. After the journey home for a more precise diagnosis, an MRI examination on Saturday evening in Innsbruck revealed an anterior cruciate ligament tear as well as an external and internal meniscus tear in the left knee.

Gallhuber was operated on by Christian Fink in the Hochrum clinic on Sunday. “Of course, the diagnosis is extremely disappointing and it hurts a lot. I would have hoped that the result would be less sobering, but I accept the situation and challenge again and will fight my way back,” said the technology specialist confidently.

Gallhuber had already torn the anterior cruciate ligament and medial meniscus in his right knee in December 2018 while training at Semmering.
