Vicenza, BeGreat brings the ‘Eat like you train’ roadshow to promote sporting talent

Nourish your body as you train your mind. It is from this principle that “Eat like you train” was born, the event promoted by BeGreat and hosted in Vicenza, at the TreQuarti restaurant of chef Alberto Basso, to reflect on the role of nutrition as a lever for performance, well-being and prevention, in sport and in daily life. The initiative brought together athletes, nutritionists, trainers, businesses, institutions and the media in an open discussion that focused on daily choices, the value of discipline and the importance of building ecosystems capable of accompanying talent in the long term, overcoming a vision limited to sporting results alone.

The evening moderated by Carola Salvato, CEO of Kea Connect and President of Gwpr, opened with institutional greetings from Jacopo Meltauro, Regional Councilor of Veneto, national vice-president of Anci Giovani and municipal councilor of Vicenza, who underlined the role of the territories in promoting accessible and sustainable models of well-being, in particular for the new generations. Following this, Senator Daniela Sbrollini’s video contribution broadened the focus to the national dimension, recalling the value of nutrition as a tool for prevention and collective responsibility, sport and initiatives such as BeGreat which demonstrate how fundamental it is to invest in healthy lifestyles and ecosystems that put the person at the centre. Following, the greeting from Marco Zanolli, CEO of Zeta Value on behalf of the board of directors of Alis, strategic partner of BeGreat for the year 2026, underlined the fundamental role of companies and sector associations in supporting advanced performance models, capable of generating value not only for athletes but for the entire economic and social community. Andrea Catizone, advisor to the Minister of University and Research, underlined the value of initiatives such as BeGreat, capable of bringing sport, education and public policies into dialogue, to accompany young people on complete growth paths consistent with the challenges of the future.

Giovanni Barbara, President of BeGreat, closed the institutional panel: “BeGreat was created to take care of the educational and training path of young sporting talents, not necessarily based on the result. We believe in a model in which discipline, nutrition, training and relationships become concrete tools to nourish and grow talent in a sustainable and responsible way”. The Ambassador & Storytelling module was one of the most emotional and identifying moments of the event, officially opening the story of the talent of Greta De Salvia, an eighteen-year-old rider and ambassador of BeGreat, who shared an inspirational speech focused on passion, perseverance and the ability to reconcile study and sport, with particular attention to nutrition as an integral part of her daily routine: “For me, nutrition, study and sport are not separate areas, but parts of the same path. Eating well is a form of respect towards the my body and towards the daily work I do to improve myself. BeGreat taught me that talent must be cultivated with discipline, awareness and vision, not only based on the result but on the person you want to become”.

The story was enriched thanks to the contributions of Beatrice Foresti (Fortune Italia) who underlined the role of the media in valorising talent and sport and of Jacopo Gubitosi, general director of Giffoni Film Festival, who brought the point of view of cinema and education as tools of attention and growth for the new generations. Paolo Longhi, founder of I’mPossible, finally recalled the value of ecosystems and communities that support talent over time, highlighting the fundamental role of partners and alliances. A choral moment, accompanied by evocative images in the background, which reiterated BeGreat’s vocation to build bridges between sport, business, culture and community, naturally introducing the transition towards the next block dedicated to sport and nutrition, with the word entrusted to the champions. A central moment of the event was dedicated to the dialogue between sport and science, with the inspirational speeches of the Olympic champion Luigi Busà and the federal Fise technician Marco Ciucci. Two different but aligned voices in reiterating that sporting success arises from the conscious integration between physical preparation, nutrition and shared vision, highlighting how correct nutrition contributes in a concrete way to improving performance, supporting balance, continuity and growth in the long term. Completing the panel was the scientific contribution offered by nutritional biologist Andrea Carolina Striglio, who highlighted how nutrition represents a true “invisible training”, capable of impacting sports performance, sports recovery and longevity, both for professional athletes and for those who practice sports at an amateur level.

Ample space was also reserved for training, thanks to the contribution of the Luiss Sport Academy. Flavio Finozzi of the Luiss Sports Office illustrated the importance of a scientific and personalized approach to nutrition in high-level courses, while the speech by Top Luiss Athlete Ginevra Topa recounted the direct experience of a dual career in which nutrition, discipline and awareness become fundamental levers to support performance, study and personal growth. The contribution of the sponsors represented a key moment of the event, concretely conveying the value of partnerships as a driver of projects with a high social impact. Introduced by the moderator as a space for discussion on why to believe in initiatives like BeGreat, the talk saw the participation of Alexandre Galiotto, general manager of Galiotto Consulting and member of the Board of Directors of Alis, ChainOn, a technology company that has just signed a partnership with Begreat for the management of sports sponsorships and Ernesto Di Iorio, CIO of Vection Technologies. Through dialogue, the partners shared the reasons for their support for BeGreat, recognizing a strong affinity of values based on innovation, well-being, responsibility and talent development. The possible – and necessary – synergy between business and sport clearly emerged, understood not only as performance but as a culture of well-being and a lever for sustainable growth, capable of generating value for people, communities and territories.

The evening ended with an experiential cooking show signed by chef Alberto Basso, who translated the themes that emerged in the talk into a concrete proposal: performance-friendly dishes capable of combining nutritional balance, seasonality and taste, demonstrating how nutrition can become a daily, conscious and sustainable practice: “Cooking can be a powerful tool for education and well-being. With Eat Like You Train we have demonstrated that nutrition and taste are not in contradiction, but can coexist in a balanced and sustainable way. Bringing these themes to the table means helping people – athletes and non-athletes – to make more informed choices every day”. Adnkronos, Corriere della sera, Fortune Italia and VoiceBookRadio were the media partners of the evening, who contributed to amplifying the themes that emerged and encouraging a quality debate on the social value of sport and talent. With “Eat like you train”, BeGreat strengthens its positioning as an ecosystem capable of generating culture, training and impact, promoting a new idea of performance in which well-being, discipline and shared vision become strategic levers for sport and society.
