In Livorno sport lights up the future, at the Banditella school institute third appointment against youth drop-out

There are days when a school becomes something more: a place where ideas are ignited, trust is built and sport stops being just a physical activity to transform into energy capable of changing the way kids look at themselves and their future. It happened at the Banditella secondary school, protagonist of the third appointment of the national project promoted by Sport e Salute and adidas Italia against the phenomenon of youth sports drop-out. After the first two stages which sparked participation and discussion in many Italian schools, the project continues its journey by once again putting girls and boys from lower secondary schools at the center, accompanying them in an experience of movement, listening and inspiration.

What made the day unique was the presence of an extraordinary ambassador like Ambra Sabatini, athlete and Paralympic champion, symbol of courage, talent and determination, flanked by an exceptional moderator: Andrea Lo Cicero, capable of involving the students with energy, irony and authenticity. Between dynamic activities, group exercises and moments of direct dialogue, the students were the protagonists of an intense and participatory morning, guided by the technicians of the Junior Active School project together with special guests. A concrete opportunity to experience sport not only as a physical activity, but as an educational experience and a tool for personal growth.

«Sport doesn’t ask you to be perfect – said Ambra Sabatini – it asks you to try, to get back up, to believe in yourself even when it seems difficult. And this is the most important message we can leave to kids.” Giving rhythm and depth to the meeting was the former rugby player and Illumina Ambassador, Andrea Lo Cicero, who involved the young people in a spontaneous and direct discussion: «When a boy finds in sport a space in which he feels welcomed, valued and free to express himself, then something is born that can truly accompany him in life».

The project, divided into six national stages, thus confirms itself as an inclusive, modern path close to the languages of the new generations. Each event addresses a theme linked to the fight against sports abandonment, transforming the school into a place of meeting, participation and well-being. Workshops, practical activities and testimonials from great champions become concrete tools to strengthen self-esteem, team spirit and sense of belonging. Because sport today is much more than a practice: it is social energy, it is education, it is the future. And bringing movement back to the center of school means building stronger, more inclusive and aware communities. One step, one run, one smile at a time.
