Ex-UFC makes revelation and aims for belt in new phase of career

At 39 years old, Elizeu Capoeira begins a new chapter in his martial arts career. Born in Francisco Beltrão, in the Southwest of Paraná, the veteran will take part in the main fight of the Liga Monstro Curitiba (LMC) this Saturday (6), at Live Curitiba, in the Novo Mundo neighborhood, in a title fight against the American Jesse Taylor.

Known nationally and internationally for his career in UFC between 2015 and 2025, Capoeira arrives at the event motivated by the opportunity to lead a new phase of his career in an organization that, in his view, has the potential to become the main one in the country.

Ex-UFC bets on the growth of Liga Monstro Curitiba

After a decade competing in the largest MMA organization in the world, Elizeu sees the Liga Monstro Curitiba as a promising project for the national scene.

“One of the main choices was that the Liga Monstro Combate is coming very strong. It is already surpassing big events and has everything it needs to be the biggest event in Brazil in just a few stages. And I want to be part of that”, he stated.

The arrival of experienced names, such as Capoeira and parnanguara John Lineker, reinforces the growth of the organization, which has invested in athletes with experience in international events to strengthen its cards.

UFC marked a generation in his career

Looking back, the fighter from Paraná evaluates his time in the UFC with pride. During ten years in the organization, he faced some of the main names in the welterweight category and built a respected trajectory within the MMA world.

“I evaluate the best way. I did my best in a big event. If I didn’t have more opportunities or didn’t do more, it was something that wasn’t in my hands”, he highlighted.

More than titles and victories, Capoeira makes a point of remembering the impact that martial arts had on his personal history.

“The most memorable moment was that the fight gave me a choice when I had nowhere to go or what to choose. Since then, when I started training capoeira, it was already written that I needed to believe that one day it would lead me to the best path.”

The sport that inspired his nickname ended up becoming the gateway to a successful international career.

New challenges ahead

Elizeu Capoeira is a standout in the UFC.

Even though he is approaching 40, Elizeu guarantees that he still has many goals ahead of him. In addition to remaining in the Liga Monstro Curitiba, he also intends to try other forms of combat.

“I would really like to be part of LMC for a long time and, certainly, explore new modalities such as boxing, no-gi, capoeira and others.”

Confidence to seek another belt

Facing Jesse Taylor, the man from Paraná will have the opportunity to win another important title in his career. And confidence is high.

“You can definitely expect an incredible fight. I’m feeling really good, excited about my new home, LMC. I want this belt and I’m ready for it.”
