Roland Garros, Chwalinska in the final: because the fairytale is already a record

Polish Maja Chwalinska against Russian Mirra Andreeva in the Roland Garros women’s singles final, scheduled for Saturday 6 June in Paris. Chwalinska, 24 years old and number 114 in the world, becomes the first player from the qualifiers to reach the final of the French Slam. In the semifinals, she beat Russian Diana Shnaider, seeded number 25, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 in 2h10′. The success that Andreeva, number 8 in the draw, achieved against the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, seeded number 15, was easier: the Russian won 6-1, 6-3 in 1h15′.
