Joel Kiviranta returns to the NHL’s “Finnish team” in Dallas

Finnish striker Joel Kiviranta30, returns from Colorado to the Dallas Stars on a one-year deal that will net him $1 million.

Stone beach was never drafted to the NHL. However, Tuusulainen got a contract with the Stars organization at the age of 23, after first being a surprise name in the team that won the sensational gold at the World Cup in 2019.

He played in the Stars organization for four seasons before moving on to the division rival Colorado Avalanche.

Kiviranta, who redeemed the NHL deal from Denver through a trial period and the AHL, played for the Avalanche for three seasons.

In the season that ended, Kiviranta played 51 regular season games with 3+6 power points and five playoff games without power points. He scored two goals in five matches at the Milan-Cortina Olympics when Finland won the Olympic bronze medal.

From the player profile Kiviranta is a workhorse for sub-chains. In the second season, he also scored a respectable single-season record in the NHL: 16 goals.

The winger is still remembered for his debut season miracle: he scored a hat trick in the 7th round of the 2nd round in the corona bubble and a hat trick in the decisive playoff game that lifted Dallas to victory over Colorado.

On Wednesday, Dallas also signed a two-year contract extension for the 25-year-old, who is aiming for a regular place in the NHL Arttu Hyryn with. Also a young promise Emil Hemming20, is the club’s contract player.
