Football: HJK made it to the final of the Finnish Cup: two red cards and a mixed goal in the semi-final

Helsinki The football club is playing in the finals of the Finnish Cup for the second year in a row. HJK defeated Ilves in the semi-finals at their home stadium on Wednesday with a score of 2–1.

HJK is the reigning Finnish Cup champion.

The opening goal of the staged match was already seen in the third minute, when Liam Moller shot the ball into the net and HJK into a 1–0 lead through the goalkeeper.

The one who got an embarrassing red card for a hand mistake on Saturday Ville Tikkanen did not convince on Wednesday either. Tikkanen tore through Ilves, who was running away Teemu Hytö worthy of a straight red. The red card was Tikkanen’s second in a row.

HJK has won the Finnish Cup a total of 15 times, more than any other club. In addition to the championship trophy, the winner of the Finnish Cup secures a place in the Conference League qualifiers for next year.
