Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has a new coach at his club Al-Nassr FC. The Australian Ange Postecoglou takes over the Saudi Arabian club. As Al-Nassr announced, Postecoglou will receive a two-year contract. Ronaldo, who is in the round of 16 with Portugal at the World Cup, still has a contract with Al-Nassr until the summer of 2027.
The 60-year-old will succeed Ronaldo’s compatriot Jorge Jesus, who left the club after just one year and winning the championship title. According to media reports, Portugal’s national coach Roberto MartÃnez was also discussed as the new coach of Al-Nassr. However, MartÃnez dismissed the speculation.

Instead, Postecoglou takes over. He most recently coached Nottingham Forest from September to October last year. After eight games without a win, it was over again for Postecoglou at the Premier League club. In the 2024/2025 season he won the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur.
