Daniele Santarelli in Rome for the 2026 Euro-Mediterranean Excellence Award

Daniele Santarelli, one of the most successful and internationally appreciated Italian volleyball coaches, will once again be the protagonist of the 2026 Euro-Mediterranean Excellence Award, scheduled in Rome in October 2026, the prestigious recognition known as the “Oscars of the Mediterranean”. The Italian coach, Technical Commissioner of the Turkish women’s national volleyball team, was officially invited for the second time to the Award ceremony, together with the President of the Turkish Volleyball Federation Mehmet Akif Üstündağ. An award that celebrates a career built through extraordinary successes, leadership and the ability to transform the teams he leads into authentic protagonists on the world stage.

In recent years Daniele Santarelli has written important pages in the history of international volleyball. At the helm of the Turkish national team he achieved historic results, winning prestigious trophies such as the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) and the European Championship, bringing Turkey to the top of world volleyball. Before his experience with the Turkish national team, Santarelli had already built a winning path in Italy, achieving numerous successes at club level and establishing himself as one of the most prepared and innovative coaches of the new generation.
