A complex but irresistible aquatic tango sent Italy flying into third place.Filippo Pelati andLucrezia Ruggiero are bronze medalists in the free mixed doubles at the European Artistic Swimming Championships, staged in Paris.
The Italian bronze
In a very short podium, the Italians took the lowest step with a total of 255,1641 points, thanks to an Argentine tango with a difficulty coefficient – the highest in the final – of 56,350. The gold medal goes to the British duo formed by Isabelle Thorpe and Ranjuo Tomblin, at the top with 258.2383 points. In the middle there is Spain of Dennis Gonzalez Boneu and Iris Tio Casas (with 257.9733 points).
The other placings
At the foot of the podium are the neutral athletes, with Alina Rumiantseva and Zakhar Trofimov fourth with 238.0834 points. Portugal (181.5924) and Bulgaria (157.0717) complete the ranking. This is the third medal of the event for Italy, after the gold in the diving team event – with Pellacani, Jodoin Di Maria, Santoro and Pelligra – and the silver by Filippo Pelati in the artistic swimming technical solo event.
