After the failed Grand Slam comeback of the tennis duo Serena and Venus Williams in Wimbledon, things should now work at the US Open. “The game changes. This bond never does,” superstar Serena Williams recently posted on social media with a picture of herself and her sister. Together, the Williams sisters have won 14 Grand Slams, as well as three Olympic victories in doubles.
The US sisters triumphed at the US Open in 1999 and 2009. The two last appeared together in New York four years ago – before Serena Williams retired from tennis.

At Wimbledon this summer she celebrated a spectacular Grand Slam return in singles, but lost in the first round. According to media reports, Serena Williams will not compete in the singles in New York, unlike her sister.
The reformed US Open mixed competition, which was shortened to two days, is already over for them. The former world number one and mother of two daughters was eliminated alongside Spanish top star Carlos Alcaraz after an opening win in the quarter-finals.
The Williams sisters had already planned a doubles appearance at Wimbledon. But at the London grass classic, Serena Williams canceled the match because she suffered a knee injury in the singles. The two Americans competed in Cincinnati in preparation for the US Open, but narrowly lost at the start.
