Ville Koski was only the second Finn to score in the Spanish La Liga

Koski, who performed strongly in the early season, scored the first goal of his career in La Liga when he led the team to a 1–0 lead away from Racing Santander in Saturday’s match.

Koske’s goal came from the aftermath of a corner kick in the 18th minute of the match. The home team’s goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala repelled Angel Perezin shot, after which Koski was able to shoot the ball into the empty goal without anyone blocking it.

Racing Santander was not surprised by the goal, but Yassir Zabiri leveled the match in the 38th minute and gave the hosts the lead in the 53rd minute.

The match ended with a 2–1 victory for Racing Santander.

Of defeat despite this, Alaves has started the La Liga season perfectly. It has now collected 10 points from the first five matches. Koski has been in the starting line-up in every match.

Koske became the second Finnish goal scorer in the Spanish premier league. Jari Litmanen waved in the goal net three times in a Barcelona shirt.
