Striker Kevin Viveros, from Athleticoentered the list of the 10 most valuable players in the 2026 Brazilian Championship. The list was updated by the website Transfer marketspecialized in the transfer market and market values of athletes around the world.
According to the data, Viveros has doubled its market value since May: it went from 10 million euros to 20 million euros, which represents R$118.8 million at the current price. As a result, he now ranks ninth among the most valuable players in Serie A — see the full list at the end of the article.
What draws attention is that El Tren the market value has increased fivefold since arriving in the capital of Paraná. It had a market value of 3.5 million euros on November 23, 2025, the day Furacão gained access to Series B. In other words, it has appreciated by 471% since then.
Viveros’ performance this season is worth highlighting. There are 19 goals and four assists in 32 games, 18 goals in 26 rounds of Series A. In total with the red-black shirt, since arriving in July 2025, there are 29 goals and seven assists in 57 games. On top of all this, he was also called up to the Colombia national team for the first time.
With these numbers, he became the third highest foreign scorer in Athletico’s history, surpassing the 28 goals scored by Ecuadorian Joffre Guerrón. Only Colombian David Ferreira, with 39 goals, and Uruguayan David Terans, with 31 goals, are ahead of the current scorer.
“Powerful”: Transfermarkt Manager praises Kevin Viveros
Marcos Watts, manager of Transfermarkt in Brazil, highlights that the value of Furacão’s number 9 is not a projection of what the Colombian can still achieve.
“Viveros’ appreciation is not about what the player can still develop in his career, but rather a recognition of what he has produced for Athletico. A big name on the team and an offensive reference, Viveros has an impact on his team that is difficult to find something similar in any South American football team”, he assesses.
Watts also pointed out that Viveros still has an advantage over other attackers precisely due to the unpredictability of his movements, also linked to the enormous physical capacity he demonstrates on the field.
“Viveros is a powerful and agile center forward who combines physical strength with explosiveness to attack spaces, rather than simply acting as a fixed number 9 between defenders. He is dangerous when Athletico can play vertically and has become an extremely efficient finisher, capable of scoring with both feet, and his willingness to move into wider areas makes him considerably less predictable than less mobile attackers.”
