Basketball: Gettomasa didn’t come with Kipinä to Espoo to win – the reason was too much strain

Tapiolan Hongan the winning streak has changed to two defeats, when Kipinä Basket from Akunakoski was better for the second time in a row in the men’s Basketball League.

The extremely even struggle was resolved in the last seconds, when Hongan AJ Ferguson failed the layup and Kipinä got a counter attack.

Derrin Boyd sailed to iron, and Alvar Peltoniemi fouled him worth two free throws. Boyd bagged both and no additional baskets were seen.

Honka lost by nine points in Äänekoski on Thursday, when Boyd stunned Espoo with 39 points.

In addition to the loss, the composition of the visiting team was also disappointing in Tapiola’s sports hall.

Number one, Aleksi Lehikoinen (rap artist Gettomasa), did not show up.

Leafy has so far only played in one of Kipinä’s six Korisliiga matches. Gettomasa’s warm-up would also be interesting, but the man has not been seen in away matches, even on the bench.

During the season, there were enough doubters as to whether the Emma-awarded artist could sit on guest bus trips.

The head coach Joni Hautsalo however, assured that the reason is not in motivation.

“If everything had gone well, Allu would probably be there.”

Lehikoinen is injured, says Hautsalo.

The injury is not serious, but most likely the training at the Korisliiga level has strained the rookie player too much. According to Hautsalo, the most interesting player in the Korisliiga is on the sidelines “for another couple of weeks.”

Lehikoinen has spent his vacation in Southern Europe. Among other things, he went to the Euroleague match between Milan and Barcelona to support Susijengi Olivier Nkamhouaa.

Gettomasan the impact on the domestic top league has been undeniable.

When Kipinä Basket is the guest, there are on average a couple of hundred more spectators than at other home matches.

Äänekoski’s next two away games are in Lahti on October 27 and Loimaa on October 31. Lehikoinen doesn’t seem to have time to recover from them.

The next away game after them would be a delicious place to show off somewhere else than on the home floor, because Helsinki Seagulls will host Kipinä Basket on November 13.

In basketball circles, there has been an uproar and a demand for Lehikoinen and the Seagulls’ starting point guard Lassi Nikkarinen encounter.

Lehikoinen defiantly asked on his Instagram after his Korisliiga debut if Nikkarinen “has the muscles to stay in front when he takes his back to the post [paikka korin läheisyydessä]”.

Nikkarinen coolly answered with a screen grab, how Lehikoinen couldn’t throw the opening points of his career from an open spot and close to the basket.

These are perhaps the most valuable and clearly the least valuable basketball player for their teams, so they hardly play at the same time if the gambling is based entirely on athletic reasons.

On the other hand, can such an opportunity for the show and visibility not be used?
