Slovenian national team member Benjamin Verbič (28), who normally plays for Panathinaikos, found himself at the center of a scandal due to photos and videos published on social networks by his wife and the mother of their child.
Last week, Verbič played against Norway (2-1) and Sweden (1-1) in the League of Nations, after which he had no idea what his partner Alvina would prepare for him.
“Damn people, shame on you. Partying during the break of the national team is normal, but only if you’re surrounded by normal people. I really don’t understand how you can be so stupid,” the Ukrainian woman wrote along with several photos and a video.
Slovenian media report that everything happened between League of Nations matches, and the video shows that Verbič was visibly intoxicated. The videos of explicit content were soon deleted, but too late.
After Verbič became the main topic in Slovenia, the footballer came forward and denied everything, saying that the recordings were old.
– The photos and video posted by my ex-partner and the mother of my child are very old. Everything she wrote is a pure lie – said the Slovenian national team member, who made it clear that they are no longer together.
