The referee of the match between Egypt and Senegal is threatened with suspension

The Egyptian fans are awaiting the decision of the International Football Association (FIFA) regarding the request of the Gabaliya to replay the match between Egypt and Senegal in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, due to the unfortunate events that took place in the match that was held in Dakar last Tuesday.

A source within the CAF Referees Committee revealed that all the reports sent by the Algerian Mustafa Ghorbal, the international referee who managed the match and the observer of the Referees Committee, were sent to the International Federation two days ago, and they are currently under study.

The source hinted at the possibility of imposing a penalty on the referees of the matches between Egypt against Senegal, and Algeria against Cameroon at the end of the World Cup qualifiers, which may amount to suspension for several international and continental matches.

And the intention is heading inside the corridors of the International Football Association, by adopting the result of the match between Egypt and Senegal, by qualifying the Teranga Lions to the 2022 World Cup, and rejecting Egypt’s request to replay the return match that ended in favor of Senegal with penalty shootouts, after equalizing the result of going in Cairo 1-0 in the original time and extra.

And in the past hours, the Egyptian Football Association submitted a complaint to the International Federation “FIFA”, asking it to replay the match, as the Disciplinary Committee within FIFA is scheduled to consider the complaint and issue its final decision.

The most prominent violations mentioned by the Football Association in its complaint were:
1- The appearance of offensive banners in the stadium stands for the players, specifically Mohamed Salah, the team leader.
2- The Senegalese fans terrorized the Egyptian national team players by throwing bottles and stones at them during the warm-up process.
3- The Egyptian mission’s buses were attacked, causing their windows to shatter and some people were injured and injured, which was documented with pictures and videos that were attached to the complaint.
4- Directing laser beams at the eyes of the Egyptian players during the penalty shootout that awarded the Senegalese team the qualification card.
5- The decisions of the referee during the match, which affected the events of the match.
The International Federation placed Senegal in the third classification during the World Cup draw, which will be held this evening in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Football Association officials refused to expect FIFA’s response regarding the Jabalia protest against the unfortunate events that took place in the Egypt-Senegal match, as it was revealed that the decision, our Lord, would be issued within the next few hours.

FIFA and CAF received a complaint from Egypt, along with a response from the Senegalese federation on all the events that accompanied the match, as well as a report from the match observer, who had refused to postpone the match despite the delay in the arrival of the Egyptian team to the match due to crowding and others.
At a time when it was reported within the corridors of the meetings taking place, whether in Doha currently by officials of the Executive Office of FIFA on the sidelines of the International Federation Congress and the World Cup draw, or in the offices of the FIFA Disciplinary Committees in Switzerland, that the general trend is to adopt the result and reject Egypt’s request to repeat the match with only the signing of a fine The Senegalese federation has deprived the Teranga Lions of its fans at least in two matches, in addition to warning of doubling the penalties in case of repetition, as well as directing a reprimand to the Senegalese federation.
