Alberto González wins his first World Cup in Hong Kong

The Spanish triathlete Alberto González won this Sunday in the first edition of the Hong Kong World Cup, an important date that also marked the debut of his record in the World Triathlon world series in a head-to-head with Antonio Serrat.

The Japanese Kenji Nener seemed a favorite for victory after the swim, already on the bike, but with the stalking of González and the also Spanish Antonio Serrat. The chase grew and the test opened with a leading trio. In his attack, Serrat moved forward but González closed the gap in a Spanish one-on-one.

The man from Malaga resisted better in the race and took the gold taking advantage of the good comeback against Nener, who won bronze with Serrat signing the Spanish double in Hong Kong with the silver. In addition, David Cantero was fifth and David Castro, eleventh.
