The Spaniards triumph at home and leave Madrid as World Cup leaders

The Spanish riders Jorge Prado (GasGas) and Daniela Guillén (GasGas) won the Spanish Grand Prix this Sunday, a historic double in Madrid with which they also emerged as leaders of the motocross World Championship.

The inaugural event of the competition was hosted by the intu Xanadú circuit located in Arroyomolinos, where Prado and Guillén confirmed their good performance on Saturday to become champions, taking advantage of the momentum of their audience to make history in Spanish motocross.

More than 30,000 people attended the first Spanish double in the World Cup. Prado, three-time world champion, started the season in an unbeatable way, being the undisputed winner, winning in every outing on the track, to become the top favorite for another title.

Meanwhile, for the first time, Guillén won both of her rounds to also begin her attempt to climb a step and be world champion this season with maximum expectations. “The public’s support has helped me finish each heat with that extra energy. It has been an incredible Grand Prix,” said the Catalan, after a heart-stopping outcome with Lotte van Drunen.
