FC Augsburg is relying on managing director Michael Ströll for the long term. The contract of the CEO with overall responsibility has been extended until June 30, 2029, as the Bundesliga club announced on Friday. “Michael Ströll has been largely responsible for and shaped the development of FC Augsburg over the past 15 years, which is an absolute success story,” praised club president Markus Krapf. As a stable Bundesliga club, the FCA is “structurally very well positioned” and “economically sound.” Ströll is therefore “the ideal person to head our FCA”. The 39-year-old sports economist, who himself played for Augsburg’s second team, started working for the Swabians as an intern in 2006. In 2016 he became financial director, and after Stefan Reuter stepped down in September 2023, Ströll took over overall responsibility. The official said in the statement that he was looking forward to the coming years and “that we are far from at the end of our journey.”
