Guto Ferreira explains Lucas Ronier on the bench against Ponte Preta

The midfielder Lucas Ronier changed the game Coritiba when coming on in the second half to replace striker David. With Piá do Couto on the field, Coxa managed to draw away from home against Ponte Preta this Sunday (21), in the debut of Series B.

Alviverde had a lot of difficulty in the first half with the starting attack, made up of David, Figueiredo and Leandro Damião. With Ronier’s good entry, coach Guto Ferreira was asked about a possible starting role for the number 98.

“I think everyone already knows that of the four weeks [de intertemporada], Ronier trained for a week, contracted dengue fever and was out of action for almost ten days. He returned to training this Monday. So he is in the process of resuming”, said the coach.

“David participated in two friendly games, well. Today the change was much more tactical, having a player to break the marking with dribbling. David is a player who receives in space and Ronier adapted to the physical moment”, he added .

Ronier was the main player in creating the thigh-white equalizing goal. The athlete kicked for the goal, the ball bumped into Joílson, from Ponte, and went in.

Then, with the entry of Wesley Pomba and Brandão, Alviverde came very close to achieving a comeback, but had a goal disallowed for offside, in addition to good saves from the home goalkeeper.

Now, Coxa will play again at home, at Couto Pereira, against Brusque, on Sunday (28), at 3:45 pm.
