The Liverpool club management continues its search for the appropriate coach to succeed Jurgen Klopp, who will leave his position at the end of the current season, as the attention of officials turned to the French League.

Portuguese Paulo Fonchesca, coach of French club Lille, has entered the circle of candidates to succeed the German coach in Liverpool, especially since his contract expires next summer, which will make negotiating with him easier.

Fonchesca, 51 years old, joined the list of candidates that included several names, including his compatriot Ruben Amorim, coach of Sporting Lisbon, Julian Nagelsmann, coach of the German national team, as well as Italian Roberto De Zerbe, coach of Brighton.

It is noteworthy that the candidates to succeed Jurgen Klopp have been linked to other clubs competing with the English club for their services, as De Zerbe and Nagelsmann are candidates to succeed Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich, while the West Ham management has entered into negotiations with Amorim to succeed David Moyes, while the Milan management wants to Fonchesca takes over as coach, Pioli, after losing the league championship.

Paolo Fonchesca coached a number of European clubs, but his best period was with the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, where he led them to achieve the league and cup double 3 times in a row, in addition to winning the Ukrainian Super Cup once.

It is noteworthy that Lille club is currently in fourth place in the French League standings, 3 points behind runner-up Monaco, and was eliminated from the European Conference League in the quarter-finals after losing to Aston Villa.
