Austria Lustenau is staggering towards relegation from the Bundesliga

It’s called Land unter im Ländle, because the Bundesliga relegated team comes from Vorarlberg this year. Before the last three rounds there are only mathematically left Austria Lustenau and Altach in the raffle, and Andreas Heraf’s team will probably get it. It’s hard to imagine that the Lustenauers, as desolate as they are this season, can win the last three games and make up for the 8-point deficit to Altach. At the zero number against WSG Tyrol It became obvious once again why the bottom team had only won two league games: the Lustenauers certainly didn’t invent scoring goals.

In general, the word should have slowly gotten around that there is something that footballers should avoid as much as possible when the foehn storm is raging over Innsbruck: high and wide passes. Because then the ball inevitably becomes a UFO, an uncontrolled flying object, and pure chaos reigns on or above the playing field.

Only after the break did the game pick up speed because Lustenau put everything on one card and WSG Tirol opened up more and more counterattack opportunities. In the end, however, both teams lacked precision and coolness. With the 0-0 draw, the Tyroleans secured their place in the league early and gave long-term coach Thomas Silberberger, who has been in office since 2013, a dignified exit at the end of the season.

At Lustenau the signs are also pointing to farewell. After two years in the Bundesliga, the second division beckons again because the competitors didn’t play for Lustenau either.

Victory for BW Linz at the WAC

In Wolfsberg, Blau-Weiß Linz took the lead after just six minutes through Seidl (5th). The Linz player took advantage of a major challenge from WAC defender Diabite. The promoted team acted more cleverly and remained the more dangerous team. Even after the break, the guests got off to a better start and deservedly increased the lead to 2-0 thanks to Briedl (55′).
