Finland gets a hard ride from the USA – President Stubb is serious – Sports

Finland will face the United States in the under-18 World Cup.

Finland the under-18 boys’ national ice hockey team is in a really tight spot in the final match of Group A of the World Cup against the United States.

The USA has clearly dominated the match from the beginning, and in the third set Finland is losing 4–9. The shots on goal were 37–17 for the USA after two periods.

If Finland loses, it will face Sweden in the quarterfinals. With a win, Switzerland would face off.

In the opening set of the match, the Finnish net waved once when the goalkeeper Petteri Rimpinen got through really easily Teddy Stigan past the shot.

By the way, Rimpinen played strongly. However, Stiga hit for the second time, when only eight seconds had been played in the second period. The hat trick was completed in 21:49

Suomen’s 1-3 reduction was completed in front of the goal Tuomas Suoniemi in time 24:35. Finland scored the second goal Mitja Jokinen in time 29:00. The goal reduced the score to 2–4.

Eight goals were finally scored in the second period. Finland’s 3–6 reduction was made Joona Saarelainen just six seconds before the break.

The president of the Republic Alexander Stubb followed the match played in Espoo and applauded Suoniemi’s goal with a serious expression. The president was accompanied by his father Goran Stubb and his brother Nicholas Stubb.
