Gp Miami 2024, Verstappen pole ahead of the Ferraris of Leclerc and Sainz

Max Verstappen in pole position with Red Bull in the Miami GP ahead of the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The Dutch driver, world champion and leader of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship, after winning the Sprint, completed his super Saturday with the best time in qualifying. Verstappen took pole, the 38th of his career and the sixth in as many races this year, with a lap of 1’27”241.

The Dutchman precedes the Ferrari of Monegasque Leclerc (+0”141) who, after second place in the Sprint, completes the front row on the grid for the GP scheduled for Sunday 5 May. The Spaniard Sainz, with the other red, closes with the third fastest time (+0”214) and opens the second row in which he will be joined by the Red Bull of the Mexican Sergio Perez.

In the third row the McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, followed by the Mercedes of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. In the fifth row, completing the top ten, Nico Hulkenberg’s Haas and Yuki Tsunoda’s RB.
