“I wish there was one” – Okko Järvi needs a good slipper sponsor because of his superstition – Sports

Korisliiga star player Okko Järve has a wide selection of slippers, and it gets expensive.

Seagullsin with a shooting star Okko Lake is a much talked about hairstyle in the basketball playoffs.

There was much more special in Järve when the Seagulls advanced to the final match of the Korisliiga on Saturday by beating Kauhajoki 100–91 in the seventh meeting.

In one match, Järvi played in neon colored slippers. In the next game, the color changed to pink, and in the stoppage game, the slippers were two-colored.

How many basketball shoes do you have?

“Many. And I’ve done it in the semifinals so that whenever there’s a bad game, I change my shoes,” Järvi said.

Changing slippers at this rate would probably require a slipper sponsor.

“Is not. I wish there was one.”

“In the last game I played badly and changed shoes. In the last game I played badly again and decided to change shoes. It has worked really well.”

Lake attracts attention with his light-dyed hair, and at least as much with his throwing skills. Now also with his slipper rally.

Against Bearbasket, he scored 29 points in the most important moment.

“In this series alone, I played seven matches with four pairs of slippers,” Järvi said with amusement.

“Fortunately, I didn’t need more shoes, but I do have them.”

Järvi gets game clothes through a cooperation agreement, but no shoes have been offered.

In the seventh semi-final match against Karhubasket, Okko Järve wore two-colored game shoes.

Seagullsin in the semi-final win, in addition to Järvi, it hurt to score big points Shavon Coleman. He threw 24 pins.

“In these games, you just have to come forward. I’ve said before that in these moments you either show who you are or crumble,” Järvi summed up.

“It’s good that it turned out this way.”

The Seagulls will start the final matches of the Korisliiga on Wednesday, May 8, at their home field in Töölö Kisahalli against BC Nokia.
