Mourinho reveals a surprise regarding the “VAR” technology

Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho detonated a heavy bomb towards the video technology “VAR”, which has been used in football matches since 2018, and he said when asked about the technology during his participation on Wednesday in the Digital Balance Summit (Sync) at the Ithra Center in the city of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia: When you are a referee inside… A dark room where you can control the frame, and judge the game whether there is an offside, goal, penalty kick, or expulsion. If you are an Al-Ittihad fan, you will speed up the shot, and if you are a Al-Hilal fan, you will slow it down.

The coach, who won titles and glory in most of his careers, seemed not completely convinced by the video referee technology, which has always been the subject of controversy in many matches, and he stressed in his speech that it kills football fun and passion when used incorrectly.

Mourinho, or “Special One” as he calls himself, talked about several aspects of his coaching career, which went through a number of big clubs such as Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Manchester United, and he trained many stars.

He said about his training for Cristiano Ronaldo: Of course, Ronaldo is a big star and it is wonderful to work with him, but in the end as a coach I work with the group and not with one player, and here I must provide an environment and means of success for everyone.

Regarding the players’ relationship with the fans, he said: When I encourage the players to create and create their own brand, this is in order to motivate and encourage the way to deal with the fans. When you play for a fan club, you have to bear a lot of criticism that you may encounter.

He added: As a coach, I do not prevent players from speaking to the media, but at the appropriate time, as everything has its appropriate opportunities, and also social media must be dealt with appropriately. For example, I try to isolate myself from it so that I do not fall into the trap of influence.

He explained that the players’ own behavior is not a measure for him as a coach, but rather the giving on the field, because he is the decisive factor in everything and, as he described it, there is no room for lying.

The Portuguese technician seemed proud of his achievements, but he reserved mentioning the ones closest to his heart out of respect for the clubs he worked for. He continued: I achieved 26 championships from the field and not from social media or because my clothes are a beautiful brand.

The 61-year-old stated that he builds his training philosophy during his career based on the general situation of the club he coaches, and then adapts the positive aspect of success.
