Spain is proclaimed European champion with the mixed jumping team

The Spanish mixed diving team, formed by Valeria Antolino, Carlos Camacho and Juan Pablo Cortés, won the gold medal this Monday at the European swimming championships, which are being held in Belgrade.

In the debut of the sport in the continental event, the Spanish trio had a very regular competition on the trampoline and the platform to accumulate 367.65 points, which helped them surpass Ukraine (357.00) and Germany (352.30) , silver and bronze respectively.

The Spaniards placed third after the jumps from the three-meter springboard, but managed to come back from the 10-meter platform, where Antolino achieved a great 62.40 that earned the team the chance to take first place, also taking advantage of an error by the German Carolina Coordes. Camacho, with a score of 72.00, endorsed the position before, together with Antolino, confirming the gold.

In this way, Antolino, Camacho and Cortés add the first gold in the history of Spain in this modality and the sixth medal for the national delegation in these European Championships.

Spain attended the European Championship without its online swimming representatives, prioritizing the Palma Olympic Open Trials on the same dates, and only with the absolute artistic swimming, open water and diving teams.

At the moment, along with this new gold medal, she has won four other golds in artistic swimming – in the technical team routine, by Dennis González in the technical solo, by Emma García and Dennis González in the free mixed duet and Mireia Hernández and González in the mixed duet technical- and the bronze from Candela Sánchez in the 25 kilometers of open water.
