Coe also played a key role in the 2012 London Olympics, as he chaired the Games Organizing Committee. In 2015, he was elected president of the IAAF after winning the vote Sergei Bubkan.
“I now have the best job in the world as the chairman of the first sport of the Olympics. These experiences and those from other areas of my life would be useful as IOC president,” Coe said.
In addition to his sports career and management duties, Coe also served as a representative of the Conservative Party in the British Parliament between 1992 and 1997.
