Starting in the fall, the PlayStation 5 will dispense with the honors in multiplayer games

According to Sony, praise, a feature that rewards players for their excellent behavior in online games, will be removed from PlayStation 5 (PS5) starting this fall due to a lack of usage.

With the release of its next-generation console in late 2020, the Japanese business debuted this feature, which has three categories: “helpful,” “good player,” and “cordial.”

For each online game they play, players have the option to give one of these praises. This approach also imposes certain limitations, since it is not possible to reward someone who is on the user’s friends list and praises for the same player can only be given once every 12 hours.

The tour of this functionality will cease in the fall of next year, as PlayStation has published a blog post previewing some of the features that won’t be available on its systems in the future.

In this regard, the Japanese manufacturer has recognized that its decision to disable this function was motivated by a low rate of use that fell short of expectations.

“The Praise feature will be removed from PlayStation 5 in the fall of 2022. We are refocusing our efforts because this feature has not been used as frequently as we had hoped “He stated in this document.

With this, Sony has hinted that a different security-related feature may shortly stop functioning. With Kids Safety/Web Security from Trend Micro, kids can use the browser on any of their consoles to access the Internet safely.

This option has been accessible on a variety of the company’s systems from November 2007, including the PlayStation 3, PSP, and PS Vita, as well as the Xbox 360 since April 2009. By May 31, 2023, it won’t be accessible on any of them.
