Vietnam aims to export digital technology 55 billion USD per year

On June 4, the Prime Minister approved the Project to support and develop Vietnamese digital technology businesses globally until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The project sets a goal that by 2030, the whole country strives to have 5,000 Vietnamese digital technology businesses generating revenue from the international market. Export revenue of digital technology products and services reaches a minimum of 55 billion USD per year, with an average growth of 30% per year.

In addition, Vietnam will have 60 digital technology businesses achieving revenue from foreign markets of 20 million USD or more and 5 businesses achieving revenue of one billion USD; Successfully implemented 25 mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures or strategic cooperation deals between Vietnamese digital technology enterprises and international partners, each deal worth from one million USD.

Vision to 2045, Vietnam will become one of the leading digital technology industrial centers in the region and the world; There are 10 digital technology enterprises on par with advanced countries. The Make in Vietnam brand is recognized by the international community and has a reputation in the global market.

The project determines that Vietnamese digital technology enterprises not only master technology and the market but also gradually participate in shaping the global digital technology development trend, contributing to the construction of international digital standards, norms and ecosystems.

To achieve this goal, the Government will prioritize resources for research and development programs for Make in Vietnam digital technology products and services with export potential, focusing on strategic and core technologies. Domestic and foreign investment funds, along with the Strategic Industrial Development Investment Fund, are encouraged to prioritize capital for projects targeting the international market.

The cooperation model between the State, schools and businesses will be promoted to enhance research, development and technology transfer. The State also supports businesses to research, test, localize and standardize products to meet the technical, legal, linguistic and cultural requirements of each market; Supports certification, independent testing, and overseas expansion.

According to the project, Vietnam will build a brand identity and multilingual communication guide for the digital technology industry to promote the image of Vietnamese businesses in the international market.

The Government will also select 5 key digital technology enterprises to play a leading role, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises to participate more deeply in the regional and global supply chain. Tax incentive mechanisms, capital support and financial support voucher policies will be researched and developed to promote technology transfer, expand markets and increase access to domestic digital technology products and services.
