Moravia Education has re-released a new version of the popular HP 16c programming calculator, which arrives 44 years after the original as a collector’s edition and includes a 100 times faster processor, as well as the ability to save and load programs.
The HP 16c was originally launched in 1982 as a calculator designed for programmers, which served as a tool for coding and debugging code. Thus, over the years, it became an iconic device for programmers, until the arrival of new technologies.

Now, the HP 16c returns in a special edition for collectors from Moravia Education, which has redesigned the calculator to adapt it to today’s needs, introducing improvements designed for modern users.
Specifically, the new version will maintain a design similar to the classic one, as well as the same intuitive interface and advanced functionalities. However, it will arrive with faster performance and greater programmability.
This is because, according to the company on its website, the HP 16c is up to 100 times faster thanks to its new, more powerful integrated processor. Likewise, this new model also allows users to switch between number bases (whether HEX, DEC, OCT, BIN) and perform bit-by-bit operations, logic tests and arithmetic with customizable word sizes of up to 64 bits.
In terms of programming and performance, the new calculator allows you to program keystroke sequences with conditional branching, labels and indicators. Additionally, the program memory has been expanded and supports up to 203 bytes. This means that it offers 99 data records for various applications.
Finally, the company has stressed that the new model includes a function to save and also to load programs, which expands the possibilities of programmers with respect to the first version.
All in all, the new HP 16c has been made available to users as a limited edition for $129.95 (around 114.59 euros at the exchange rate) and only 10,000 units will be manufactured globally. “It is a true collector’s item for HP fans and technical professionals,” concluded Moravia Education.
