Tech: Fara, ‘Title IV of the Cybersecurity Act requires exclusion of high-risk suppliers from critical sectors’

“The Cybersecurity Act is placed within a very broad regulatory framework which over time has wanted to lead the European Union to raise security barriers, while allowing and promoting industrial development to the maximum extent possible. Title IV represents the true political strand of this act, as it presents important hypotheses of change and brings with it elements of a geopolitical matrix. Thanks to it, a proposal is introduced which combines the previous technical and risk assessment elements with the possibility of designating high-risk suppliers, imposing their exclusion from critical sectors, with particular attention to telecommunications networks”. This was said by Massimiliano Fara, cyber, digital, telecommunications expert Permanent Representation of Italy to the EU, participating in the event ‘Technology, power, rules: the new game of European sovereignty’, organized by Adnkronos and Open Gate Italia, at the Palazzo dell’Informazione in Rome.
