AFK Sistema, a Russian multi-industry corporation, wants to expand cooperation with Vietnam in strategic technology fields such as UAVs, satellites, hydrogen, and is ready to transfer technology, train human resources and coordinate research.
At a meeting with Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan on the morning of September 9 in Moscow, Mr. Artem Zasursky, Vice President of AFK Sistema, said that the group is prioritizing three areas in its international development strategy, wishing to listen to Vietnam’s needs to seek specific cooperation programs.

Minister Vu Hai Quan assessed that the fields proposed by Sistema all belong to Vietnam’s priority strategic technology groups, and requested Sistema to research the possibility of building an R&D center in Vietnam, inviting the group’s experts to work with domestic research groups. The Ministry of Science and Technology said it will support appropriate policies, budgets and testing environments.
According to Vice President of AFK Sistema, in the field of satellites, the company has put more than 100 satellites into orbit and mastered the stages from design, manufacturing to launch. The Group is ready to cooperate and support Vietnam in building a long-term human resource training program. With UAVs, the group said it is capable of producing from small drones to large-capacity unmanned helicopters, used in agriculture, logistics and specialized surveillance.

Regarding hydrogen, this group proposes a number of directions such as storing excess renewable energy with hydrogen, producing green ammonia, using hydrogen for vehicles, UAVs powered by hydrogen… Sistema is also ready to cooperate in training, scientific research and receive Vietnamese scientists and students to study and research in Russia.
“For technologies that Sistema has developed for a long time and successfully commercialized, we are willing to share all of our experiences and processes from laboratory research to final commercial products to help Vietnam minimize development time,” Mr. Artem said.

Minister Vu Hai Quan said that Vietnam wants to soon concretize these proposals. Regarding the roadmap, the Ministry of Science and Technology plans to include the discussion content in the next meeting. The two sides will coordinate to prepare cooperation contents to create a basis to promote the implementation of projects.
