Although players of the base games will have to wait until 2027 to explore this innovation, The Sift will make its debut a little earlier. The new dimension will first appear in Minecraft Dungeons 2, which is scheduled for release on September 29th, 2026. The decision to introduce the new dimension first in this action title is an interesting move that is sure to draw a lot of attention to both titles.

During the Minecraft Live show, the development team did not reveal all the details, deciding to keep some of the secrets for future announcements. However, they confirmed that a completely new environment awaits us, which will bring new biomes, new creatures and completely new ways to play and explore.

“Minecraft Live has revealed that the latest dimension isn’t just finding its home in Dungeons 2, but is coming to Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions next year,” the team said in an official statement to Eurogamer.

According to the first impressions, The Sift is a beautiful, vibrant and colorful dimension. The pronounced pink color palette and unusual creatures that resemble hares, but instead of jumping, walk in a unique way stand out in particular.

In Minecraft Dungeons 2, The Sift will contain specific biomes such as meadows and armor. As for the main game, it is assumed that the game will enter the new dimension through mysterious portals located in ancient cities deep underground.

Ice caves and a new danger in the core world

In addition to a completely new dimension, Mojang also announced important additions to Overworld. Players will soon be able to explore the so-called Ice Caves, a new underground biome that will be generated exclusively under the cold areas on the surface.
