“The cyber attacks will undoubtedly represent the most significant challenge we will face over the next year,” Gates said during an interview with the American broadcaster Abc News. “The real danger, at the moment, is none other thanIA becomes uncontrollable”, although “it will be necessary to work on it”, he observed. Rather, “that malicious people use it”. “Over the course of the next yearespecially in the context of IT securitywe will have many bad surprises,” he warned. According to Gates, i security systems implemented by companies specializing in AI are currently not safe enough in the face of threats computer piracy.

The concerns already expressed in August

At the end of August the billionaire had already expressed concern about the negative effects ofIAhoping for management of the change induced by this technology through measures such as one tassa for thisthe creation of a international body and the reservation of certain jobs to human beings.

Calls for greater vigilance

Several industry leaders have also recently highlighted the need for more vigilance. Dario AmodeiOf Anthropiche even pledged to unilaterally slow down its development.

Criticisms of self-regulation

Intervening on Abc, Bill Gates he also rejected the idea – supported by the president Donald Trump – according to which theself-regulation of companies specializing inIA would be sufficient to guarantee the global security. “The idea that, for the most dangerous technology ever invented by man, this is the last word and that companies themselves are the only counterweight available to society, it is clear that we are not doing enough,” Gates said.
