Google launches Health Connect health app admin center beta

Google has announced the launch of the Health Connect beta, an application for Android devices aimed at bringing together all the services of this operating system focused on health, well-being and fitness.

The company presented this application last May, when it announced that it had developed a service with which it sought to offer an application management center that included functionalities focused on sport.

Health Connect is presented as a space where users can check the data accessed by the applications (such as activity, body records, sleep, nutrition or menstrual cycle), as well as grant permissions or withdraw them.

The company has now announced that the beta version of this Android application is now available for download, through which users will be able to manage your privacy settings in applications for health and physical activity.

Among some of the platforms that can already be integrated into this administration center are MyFitnessPal, Oura and Peloton, as detailed in a statement published on the Android Developers blog.

According to Google, “by allowing health and fitness apps to communicate with each other, each app can provide the user with better health information.” Thus, he has set the example that those interested will be able to synchronize their Peloton training sessions in applications such as WeightWatchers o Lifesum.

With this, he recalled that Health Connect allows users to customize their consultations according to the focus of each application that they integrate, to access their results or statistics.

He also commented that before the deployment of this service, application developers had to establish multiple API connections to share data between applications and that each integration was difficult to build and maintain.

In this way, this application serves as a permissions management center and user interface, so that it can be configured and adapted to each application with simple code modifications.
