Google renews itself: the new features that will help to plan the perfect canopy

Summer has already arrived in many parts of the world, and Google is preparing accordingly. As many start planning world-wide trips, Google is releasing three new updates within Google Maps, which will help you plan the perfect summer vacation.

Immersive View Earlier this year, Google launched Immersive View to change the way users experience the world – artificial intelligence merges billions of images and adds a layer of reliable information to them to create a multi-dimensional view of the world. Today, the company is expanding Immersive View to four new cities: Amsterdam, Dublin, Venice and Florence – and to more than 500 iconic sites around the world, from Prague Castle to the Sydney Harbor Bridge.

If you are planning a trip to London and want to visit Kensington Palace, you can get to know it in advance. Look for it on Google Maps and click on the first video to convert the page into a virtual tour. The time indicator will allow you to see what weather is expected at different times of the day and the degree of congestion on the site, so that you can decide exactly when to visit there.

Thus, wherever Google has data about it, we can peek into it, thanks to advanced AI technology called neural radiance fields, or NeRF – developed at Google.

Tracks at a glance: Although some of us like the details of the details that can be seen in the Immersive View, we understand that sometimes everything adds – subtracts, especially if you know the route more or less and just want to check when the next turn is. That’s why Google is also launching ‘glanceable directions’, to find out where you are along the planned route, directly from the lock screen or the route overview.

When using ‘routes at a glance’, simply ask for directions to the desired destination and set off. You will be able to see current arrival times and where to turn – information that until now was only available in comprehensive navigation mode. And if you decide to deviate from the planned route, Google will update the route automatically. In the coming days, the company will begin to gradually launch ‘routes at a glance’ around the world, including walking, cycling and driving routes on Android and iOS.

The best of recent times: When planning a trip, one of the most difficult things to do is keep track of all the places you want to visit – especially if you are planning a trip to several cities. To solve this problem, Google created ‘Recent highlights’ for the computer. All the sites and places you searched for will automatically appear in the list on the side of the screen.

Thanks to the new updates that will be launched worldwide in the coming month, Google will be able to save places for you in the “best of recent times” even after you close the Google Maps window – so you can take a break from planning and come back to it later without losing everything you did before. It will be possible to remove places you have watched, plan several trips at the same time and share some of the places with those you travel with – such as attractions or hotels – to hear what they think.

Thanks to the new updates in “The Best of Lately” that will be launched around the world in the coming month, you will be able to choose three or more places from the places you have been looking for recently and automatically create the ultimate travel itinerary from them.
