Microsoft adds a Copilot key to new Windows 11 computers

Microsoft wants to highlight its assistant based on generative artificial intelligence (AI), Copilot, from the computer itself, so it has decided that all new computers with Windows 11 arrive with a key dedicated to this ‘chatbot’.

Copilot is the AI companion that Microsoft has put in recent months at the center of the user experience of its operating system, from searches with Bing and tasks in Microsoft 365 to the new functions available with its integration into Windows.

Continuing with the integration of the assistant, Microsoft has announced “a significant change” in the design of Windows computer keyboards, the first “in nearly three decades”: introducing a Copilot key as reported on its official blog.

The Copilot key will coexist with the Windows key, and will debut with the new computer models with Windows 11 that manufacturers will bring to the CES consumer electronics show and will begin to be available at the end of February. The new key will also be incorporated into the next Surface equipment.
