Google allows you to verify purchases in the Play Store with your face or fingerprint

Google has expanded the options to verify a purchase within its online store Play Store since instead of using a password, it allows you to opt for biometric recognition of the user.

The update of the Google Play Store application has introduced a new option in the purchase verification section. This is a process that, as the company explains, “applies to purchases made with this Google account on this device.”

The process seeks to prevent unauthorized purchases from being made and therefore requests that the user re-enter their Google account password to confirm that it is a purchase that this person wants to make. However, the update to the Play Store app has introduced biometric verification.

Specifically, if the user decides to activate it, they will be able to verify the purchase with facial recognition or reading their fingerprint instead of the password.

The technology company is notifying users of this change by sending an email in which it also recommends activating this verification for each purchase made, as stated in 9to5Google.
