To bring the cinema to the home: Sony presents its new BRAVIA televisions and BRAVIA Theater speakers | Mini LED | TV | TECHNOLOGY

Sony has presented its new televisions BRAVIAwith models 7, 8 and 9, the latter standing out for its Mini LED technology and its ability to offer great image luminosity, deep blacks, superior contrast and natural colors, all together with its new home audio products BRAVIA Theatreto bring the cinema sound experience to the home.

With the increase in streaming services, with which practically any film content can currently be viewed from home, the Japanese company has shared its intention to renew the BRAVIA brand as a set of devices designed for viewing movies and to “enrich the best home theater experience”, bringing together televisions, sound bars and other home audio technologies.

In this sense, Sony has presented its new BRAVIA 7, 8 and 9 televisions, with which it claims to increase “even more” the sensation of reality of cinematographic content and offers better image and sound quality at home, to view content “just as the filmmaker conceived them.”

As the technology company has detailed in a statement, as a common denominator, all the new televisions are equipped with Sony’s XR processor, which has a scene recognition system capable of detecting and analyzing data with “high precision.” In this way, it manages to optimize the images with the “maximum possible realism”. Specifically, the company has highlighted the new BRAVIA 9 television models, with a QLED Mini LED panel, 4K Ultra HD resolution and 75 and 85-inch versions.

This series stands out for its high maximum illumination technology, among other things, thanks to its Mini LED technology. Thus, it offers the highest possible brightness in these televisions, along with precise backlight control, ensuring that all areas of the screen are correctly illuminated and, therefore, allowing you to discover “even the smallest details” in each scene. In fact, the company has noted that these televisions have achieved up to approximately 50 percent more brightness than with the 2023 X95L model.

Following this line, BRAVIA 9 televisions include Backlight Master Drive technology. This is a system that, as Sony explained, uses a unique local dimming algorithm. This allows you to precisely control the thousands of LEDs that make up the TV panel to deliver authentic contrast and, in this way, preserve shadow detail in dark and complex scenes. This technology is also present in the BRAVIA 7 series.

Continuing with the BRAVIA 9 models, they also have X-Anti Reflection and X-Wide Angle technologies. With the first, the television shows clearer images with fewer reflections and flares, so that discomfort caused by the sun or lighting from a lamp is avoided. For its part, X-Wide Angle keeps the appearance of the images on the screen equally natural whether they are viewed from the sides or in the center.

Regarding sound quality, BRAVIA 9 televisions integrate the Acoustic Multi-Audio+ function. With this technology, as the company has highlighted, they have become the first televisions “in the world” with a top-beam tweeter speaker and another with a frame on the sides, which guarantees cinema-like surround sound.

BRAVIA 7 AND 8 TVs

Regarding the BRAVIA 7 and 8 televisions, Sony has presented the BRAVIA 8 series with OLED technology in the 55 and 77-inch versions. For its part, the BRAVIA 7 QLED series also has a Mini LED panel and has been launched in 55, 75 and 85-inch versions.

Likewise, in relation to the reproduction of streaming content, all the new models have the Studio Calibrated mode. In addition to the Netflix calibrated mode and Sony Pictures Core, televisions will be able to use the Prime Video calibrated mode, an option available from the Amazon platform with which the content will be played with the specific calibration that the creators had conceived.

With this, Sony intends that users can achieve a viewing experience “through the vision of the creator of each series and film.” In addition to all this, BRAVIA televisions are compatible with both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos certifications.

Likewise, the new televisions also have Sony’s Voice Zoom 3 technology, which recognizes the dialogue in the scenes through Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms and automatically amplifies or reduces the volume so that all conversations sound in the appropriate tone.

Cinematic sound with BRAVIA THEATER

In addition to its new televisions, Sony has also presented its new line of BRAVIA Theater home audio products, with which it tries to offer the same immersive audio of movie theaters in homes.

Thus, Sony has presented BRAVIA Theater U, a new ‘neckband’ style speaker – which is placed around the neck -, which provides personal immersive sound. As the company has explained, it allows you to experience a large volume without having to be aware of the people around you. That is, each viewer can enjoy “clear and immersive” sound with the freedom to adjust the volume to the desired level.

On the other hand, the Japanese firm has launched the new BRAVIA Theater Bar 8 and 9 sound bars, as well as Theater Quad, a system of four flat speakers placed in a vertical format.

Likewise, the company has highlighted that the new releases BRAVIA Theater Bar 8 and 9 are capable of creating surround sound throughout the space thanks to 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology. This system allows you to create multiple virtual speakers in areas where there are no physical speakers, such as on the ceiling. In this way, a sound is generated with a wide sound field that surrounds the viewer from all directions, without the need for more speakers.

Following this line, with Optimized Sound Field technology, BRAVIA Theater products automatically adjust and tune each speaker based on the layout of the room.

Likewise, the Acoustic Center Sync system integrates the audio system, such as a BRAVIA Theater Bar sound bar, with the television. This way the sound exactly matches the action on the screen.

With all this, settings for Voice Zoom 3 technology, acoustic center synchronization, BRAVIA Theater audio products and other TV functions can be controlled from the BRAVIA Connect app (formerly Home Entertainment Connect app) without displaying the control bar. menu on the TV screen while watching a movie.

Users can now reserve these new Sony televisions from 2,999 euros in the case of the BRAVIA 7 model, from 2,699 euros (BRAVIA 8) and from 4,599 euros for the most advanced version, BRAVIA 9.

For its part, the BRAVIA Theater Bar 9 can also be reserved for 1,399 euros, the BRAVIA Theater Bar 8 model for 999 euros. Likewise, the BRAVIA Theater Quad speaker can be purchased for 2,700 euros and the BRAVIA Theater U portable speaker (299 euros).
