American manufacturer Chip’s Nvidia reported a jump in profits and revenue at the start of the year thanks to the boom in generative artificial intelligence. In the three-month period ended April 28, the first quarter of Nvidia’s 2024/2025 business year, revenue was nearly four times higher than in the same period in 2023/2024, jumping to 26 billion dollars.

In the data center business, it was almost five times larger, reaching 22.6 billion dollars.

The net profit was slightly more than seven times higher than at the beginning of the previous business year and amounted to 14.88 billion dollars.

At the beginning of the business, Nvidia produced graphics cards and then shifted its focus to technologies used to teach artificial intelligence applications.

“A new industrial revolution has begun – companies and countries are cooperating with Nvidia and shifting billions of dollars worth of traditional data centers to accelerated computing, building a new type of data centers – artificial intelligence factories (…),” he said. is CEO Jensen Huang.

“The growth engine for our data center business has been strong demand for training generative artificial intelligence, which continues to accelerate,” Huang added.

“In addition to cloud service providers, generative AI has also expanded to consumer and corporate Internet companies, national AI, clients in the automotive and healthcare sectors,” the head of the American giant pointed out.

“National AI” will include, according to the definition on Nvidia’s website, physical and data infrastructure, including large language models developed by teams in individual countries, training them on available data to promote inclusiveness of dialects, culture and practice.
