FalComics 2024, organized by LEG (Live Emotion Group), the comics and pop culture festival experienced its inaugural day yesterday with the opening of the exhibition areas followed by the ribbon cutting in Piazza Mazzini with the mayor Stefania Signorini, the Artistic Director Gianluca Del Carlo and representatives of LEG.
The day was full of events: from the exhibition of maestro Paolo Barbieri visited as a preview by the students, to the performances of ASD Ma.Mo Dance and the concert of I Re dei Sette Mari. The the historic center was immediately animated by cosplayers, young and very young, who crowded the 12 areas and numerous stands thus creating a magical atmosphere that lasted through the streets of Falconara Marittima until the evening. Evening that recorded excitement for Mal’s arrival at 5.30pm, with the presentation of his book “La Furia di Mal” in Piazza Mazzini and who did not fail to perform some of his now immortal hits. Closing the evening on the Main Stage is the concert at 9.30pm by Banana Split feat. Douglas Meaking, the latter interpreter of great hits such as “Mazinga”, “Sampei” and “Candy Candy”.
Satisfaction with this new edition of FalComics in words of the mayor of Falconara Marittima Stefania Signorini: “FalComics is a festival that I strongly wanted and on which I began working in 2021, when I made contact with the best professionals involved in internationally important events related to comics – says the mayor -. Few believed that I would be able to carry out such an ambitious project, but this year we launched, together with LEG, an even bigger programme, with two exceptional editions behind us, the last one with over 100 thousand visitors. For the new edition, thanks to the expansion of the areas and therefore of the artistic and cultural offer, we hope to achieve even greater success. Behind the goal of 150,000 visitors there is no cold numerical calculation: growth means offering the public a diversified and quality cultural offer and above all offering our city three unforgettable days, during which Falconara will become a capital of entertainment, art, entertainment and fantasy. We have many expectations, because in this edition the city is involved given that the exhibition area has been expanded, associations and schools are participating. It took determination and a lot of heart to achieve the goal, thanks to Gianluca Del Carlo who made this dream possible, to Sandro Giacomelli, Tania Ferri, Elisabetta De Luca of LEG and to Paolo Barbieri who with his manifesto conveyed to me the magic of FalComics”.
Sandro Giacomelli who together with Tania Ferri and Elisabetta De Luca directs LEG Live Emotion Group, declared: “After the first year we found ourselves aware that the public participating in the festival appreciated us, and this allowed us to improve over time and arrive at an increasingly true and effective collaboration between the Municipal Administration and the LEG staff, dozens and dozens of professionals who, each of them in their own field, have given us all the opportunity to perform our functions as best as possible. A special thank you goes to Maestro Paolo Barbieri: the poster he created this year is spectacular”.
Today’s program, Saturday 25 May, is even richer: on the Main Stage “Disney100 – If then dreaming you can do it” by the Musical Company IRIDE, Gisella Cozzo is celebrating 30 years of “Joy (I feel good, I feel fine)”, soundtrack of the TV commercial “Coppa del Nonno”, the live performance of Crimson Dojo and at 9.30pm, the concert event by Cristina D’Avena with Gem Boy – special guest Enzo Draghi, and again in Artist Alley Giovanni Quasirosso, Marco Mastrazzo, Artist vs Music: Sergio Algozzino, Bigo and other guests, Ink Wars, Christian Cornia. In the Movie Zone, meetings with the voice actors: David Chevalier, Manuel Meli, Mirko Cannella. Still many well-known faces among the most followed cosplayers and many other illustrious names of artists from the world of pop culture.
Another awaited appointment in Piazza Mazzini at 6.00 pm with Stefano Rossi and Fabio Viola, for a meeting on cyberbullying, challenges, digital loneliness, gender violence with speaker Maurizio Di Fazio, author and journalist of the Espresso group, Il Fatto Quotidiano and Vanity Fair. For the little ones Laura Carusino, the famous face of Rai Yoyo, is arriving, presenter of the historic program “L’Albero Azzurro” and of “Hello Yoyo” who will present a national preview of her new book “Io sono Bea”, published by Piemme. Afterwards, the “living manifesto” will be shown, created by the artist Sonia Ricci and the master Paolo Barbieri during the day on the body of a splendid model using the body painting technique. In Piazza Catalani, K-Pop is always the center of attention, but also the Lightsaber show at 7.00 pm by Star Wars Club Perugia. In the E-Sport Zone LOL finals (BO5), LOL and Free Play awards and the new “Gladiator Survival” format.
