Guide: Have you lost a Samsung smartphone? This is how you can find it
Most of us have probably lost our smartphone at some point, be it for a short time or forever. What do we do if we want to find out where we forgot the device and how to protect the information remotely? Samsung offers the feature “Find My Mobile” and “Samsung Find” that come to solve these problems. When you turn on the Find My Mobile option, the Samsung Find feature allows you to locate and lock the device and even erase the data on the device to block all access to it. As long as the device is turned on, you can find it even if it is not connected to a cellular network. Using Samsung Find, you can disable not only a Galaxy smartphone, but also Galaxy Buds, tablets and watches.

Users can invite family members in the Samsung Find app to see the location or play ringtones to locate shared devices. For the highest probability of locating the lost devices with Samsung Find, you can extend the battery life by remotely activating the Power Saving mode.

‘Settings’ > ‘Security and privacy’ > ‘Lost device protection’

The “Security and Privacy” control panel allows you to fully manage your data. Among other things, it allows you to determine who sees the data and how it is used. In one simple interface, you can view, create and update application permissions, controls and data sharing features.

The control panel also allows you to see data that may be at risk, when you are shown the safety status of security items.

Settings > Security & Privacy

From there, you can change the settings and manage the hazards. The items are ordered by the priority of the functions that may have the most significant impact on your online safety, for example, lock screen, account security, device loss protection with Find My Mobile, app security, and updates. These items are accessible and appear at the top, with red, yellow and green color alerts indicating if there are security issues and allowing you to see them at a glance.

Galaxy devices deauthorize apps you haven’t used for a certain period of time. If you want, you can turn the permissions back on in the control panel.

They can be activated through the ‘Permission Manager’ and ‘Permission Usage’. In the ‘Permission Manager’ you can easily see which applications have access to your data, whether it’s your location, camera or microphone and also the context of the access (for example, only when using the application). Using Permissions allows you to easily see recently used permissions and, in particular, which applications have used a particular permission in the last 24 hours or 7 days.

You can enter the ‘Security and Privacy’ control panel. Go to ‘Settings’ and ‘Security and Privacy’, where you can check and change the permissions as needed.

You can also adjust the features to further improve the device’s privacy, for example, enable or disable the Clipboard Access feature. If you enable the feature (via ‘Settings’, ‘Privacy’ and switching the state of the ‘Notify during access to the clipboard’ slider), you will receive a notification every time a certain application infects something from your clipboard.
