According to The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Syrian intelligence officer was killed in the province of Daraa as a result of the detonation of an improvised explosive device. Another person who was in the car with him was injured.
The deceased had previously fought against the regime of Bashar al-Assad, and then went over to the side of the authorities. His father, a brigadier general in the Syrian army, also supported the opposition. He was arrested by special services in 2019, his fate is unknown.
There have been 206 attacks in the province since early 2022, killing 180 people, according to SOHR. Among the dead were 78 civilians, including two women and four children.
