Two people were killed as a result of a Russian airstrike on the city of Kupyansk

The Kharkov regional prosecutor’s office said that two people were killed and another was injured as a result of a Russian airstrike on the city of Kupyansk, the BBC reported.

After being hit by a UAB-1500 controlled aerial bomb (its weight is 1,500 kg), “wires from the electrical network fell on two passers-by – a man and a woman.”

“A fire broke out. Unfortunately, people died on the spot. Their bodies were badly burned. The details of the dead are being established,” the prosecutor’s office said.

In addition, private and multi-apartment residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged in Kupyansk, and 15 garages were destroyed.

Kupyansk is constantly under fire from the Russian army, which, according to the Ukrainian OSINT project Deep State, is located about three kilometers from the city.

South of Kupyansk, the Russians had already approached the Oskol River, as a result of which the Ukrainian bridgehead on its left bank was cut in two.

The Ukrainian authorities are calling on residents of Kupyansk to evacuate, but in early November, the mayor of the city, Andrei Besedin, told a correspondent for the British newspaper Guardian that about 1.4 thousand people refuse to leave there.
