President Vahagn Khachaturyan discussed the issues related to the missing, captives and other detained persons and other humanitarian issues with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Miryana Spolyarich Eger in Switzerland.
Khachaturyan has been in Geneva since November 13 to participate in the opening ceremony of the “CRANS MONTANA FORUM” forum.
According to the office of the President of Armenia, the continuous work towards the return of captives and other detained persons and clarification of the fate of the missing persons is extremely important, Khachaturyan said, emphasizing the need to activate joint efforts in this direction.
According to official data, 23 Armenian prisoners of war are being held in Baku, including 8 officials of Artsakh: former presidents Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, Speaker of the National Assembly Davit Ishkhanyan, former Minister of State Ruben Vardanyan, former Commander of the Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan, opposition “Armenia” “Brother of Gegham Manukyan, deputy of the faction, member of the alliance, former deputy commander of the Defense Army Davit Manukyan and former foreign minister Davit Babayan.
Baku has brought serious charges against the former officials of Artsakh, from terrorism to the formation of illegal armed groups.
There are no names of missing servicemen or civilians in the list of confirmed prisoners.
According to official data, 195 people are considered missing after the 2020 war, 175 of them are servicemen and 20 are civilians.
