Erdogan said he would hold talks with Zelensky and Putin on the export of grain from Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he would hold talks with Presidents Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin next week.

According to Erdogan, he intends to discuss with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine the creation of corridors for the export of grain from Ukraine. This issue was discussed last week in Ankara between the foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey.

For the export of grain from Ukraine, Ukrainian ports must be cleared of mines. Kyiv demands guarantees that Moscow will not use this to seize ports.

Ukraine provides 9% of world supplies of wheat, 16% of corn and 42% of sunflower oil. The main market for Ukrainian grain is Africa. Russia’s blockade of Ukrainian ports threatens the continent with famine and political destabilization.
