The real drama took place on Thursday at the sea near Vis, where members of the Croatian Coast Guard rescued a seriously injured man in difficult weather conditions and transported him urgently to Split. At the request of the National Center for Coordination of Search and Rescue at Sea, the crew of the Coast Guard set sail with the boat “Modrulj 3” to pick up the injured man in the city port of Vis. Boarding took place at 1:37 p.m., after which the race against time to Split began.
Despiteč bad weather and demanding conditions at sea, the crew did everything during the voyage to ensure the stability of the boat and the safety of the patient.
After a little more than an hour of tense navigation, the boat arrived at the Split port of Zenta at 2:50 p.m., where the injured man was immediately taken over by the emergency medical service.
The patient was immediately handed over to the doctors, who continued to provide medical assistance.
This action once again showed how quick reaction and coordination of services are key in situations where human lives are saved, especially in difficult conditions at sea.
